Muesli | ChopChop

Muesli is a traditional Swiss breakfast of milk-soaked oats and fruit. There’s a fresh-tasting chewiness when you make oats like this, and they’re a nice change of pace from cooked oatmeal, especially when the weather’s warm.

Hands-on time: 5 minutes
Total time: 10 minutes
Makes: 2 Servings

Kitchen Gear:

Measuring cup
Box grater
2 cereal bowls

2 cups
low-fat or whole milk
1 cup
old-fashioned rolled oats
apple (scrubbed or peeled and grated on the large holes of a box grater)

Wash your hands with soap and water, then gather all your kitchen gear and ingredients and put them on a clean counter.

  1. Divide the oats between the 2 bowls. Pour half the milk over the oats in each a bowl, and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Divide the shredded apple between the 2 bowls, stir, add any of the optional toppings and eat right away.
